Over the weekend I upgraded my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

I upgraded to Microsft 365 and backed up system.

Seems like everything is working... but no sound.

Have run diagnostics and fail on speakers as well as with headphones.

Speakers (Internal) worked prior to upgrade.

Open the Device Manager, check if you've audio drivers installed there and working fine.

Additionally, run Playing Audio troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.

Meanwhile, refer other suggestions in this fix:

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Do you see a red 'X' icon on the taskbar?

Could you please share the details of the audio drivers available under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers in the Device Manager?

If you see your default audio driver, Realtek (R) or Synaptics HD audio driver, select Uninstall device, select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device check box, and then select Uninstall.

    Once uninstalled, restart your computer.

(Unplug and reinsert your computer's external speakers into the audio output jack on the desktop tower and test the audio output.)

If that still doesn't work, go to your PC manufacturer's website, download the Synaptics HD Audio Driver for your device model 8.65.319.200 - HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Workstation Edition, and install it. Restart your computer and test the audio output through the computer speakers.
