I just bought a Windows 11 Pro license and I can't Activate it

I just bought a Windows 11 Pro license from the Microsoft Store to upgrade from the Home edition, and my computer won't activate it. I just have this error and it says Windows 11 Enterprise on top instead.

Troubleshooter doesn't work. I restarted several times and it kept saying "updating", but it looks like that is complete because it doesn't show up on restart anymore. This came with an OEM license for Windows originally. When I look in the store are my purchases, this is all I see (no product key):

Also, is there a chat or phone number to call? Clicking through Microsoft help just goes in circles.

This is common issue when upgrade from Home to Pro is bought from MS Store and Windows will be upgraded to Enterprise edition.

To fix this issue

  • Disconnect your device from internet.
  • Change product key to Win 11 Pro generic key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
  • Restart

Using generic kay will downgrade Enterprise to Pro and it will be activated using license you have bought from MS Store.
