WORD WON'T OPEN AFTER RECENT UPDATE ON MAC

After a recent update, I can't open Word. It says "The application Microsoft Word can't be opened" when you try entering the app or opening a document. Please assist.

I understand that you're experiencing issues running the Microsoft Word program after the recent Updates. To fix the issue, uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Word on your Mac.

  1. Open the Finder, then choose Applications from the menu on the left. Click the Word program and drag it to the Trash.
  2. Then, download the latest version of the Word program from the link below.

    "Recent update" to what? The Office software? macOS? Both?

    Please provide the present Version Numbers of macOS & Office as well as the type of License for the Office software. There are dozens of possible combinations & spitting out random suggestions without having that information is [IMO] irresponsible.
