Has Basic 365 changed?

I have a paid 365 basic account. Now when I try to open a document I get an intercept add from Microsoft saying I need more expensive update. I can no longer edit. Did I miss an updte?

This plan only gives you the 100GB OneDrive storage space. It doesn't come with apps like Word, or Excel, Powerpoint, etc. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/p...

So, if you need to open a document, you will need to open it on the wbe via www.office.com.
