Microsoft Word Window Stretches Very Wide (Mac)

When I'm using Microsoft Word and I move my window to either side of my screen, it will stretch to the length of the screen so that I cannot see any other window. How do I turn this off? It happens very frequently.

If you're using Sequoia, you may be referring to that OS's setting that maximises windows that touch the screen edge. To turn off that option, please open System Settings>Desktop & Dock, scroll to the Windows section and turn off the option for Tile by dragging windows to screen edges.
